Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Le Thanh Liem, hosted a reception in the city, on August 14, for a delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Laos led by Deputy Minister, Sundara Sourioudong.

Speaking at the reception, Vice Chairman Liem said that the
time-honoured friendship between Laos and Vietnam has seen positive
developments in various fields, bringing practical benefits to the people of
both countries.
Ho Chi Minh City is one of the leading
localities in the country in terms of its cooperation with Lao localities,
actively contributing to strengthening and developing the fine relationship
between the two countries, he added.
He also expressed his hope that, through
the working visit made by the delegation of the Ministry of Science and
Technology of Laos, the two sides would continue to have close cooperation,
specifically in the field of science and technology, in order to further
promote the socio-economic development of both countries.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister
Sundara Sourioudong said that the Lao delegation wishes to learn about
experience in promoting policies on science - technology and intellectual
property of Ho Chi Minh City.
At
the meeting, the two sides exchanged on policies related to supporting science
and technology of Ho Chi Minh City, the State management system on intellectual
property, and policies to support intellectual property development in Ho Chi
Minh City.
