(HBO) - Over the past time, in order to actively contribute to the poverty reduction and the assurance of the social security in the area, the Social Policy Bank of Yen Thuy district has continuously improved the quality of operations, creating conditions for the poor households and the policy beneficiaries to access the preferential capital of the Government.
From the preferential loans from the Social Policy Bank, Ms. Bui Thi Quyet's family, Dinh Van village, Lac Thinh commune (Yen Thuy) has invested in buying 3 buffaloes to develop their family economy.
For the lending activities to be highly effective, in the process of implementing preferential credit policies, the Social Policy Bank of Yen Thuy district has approved the activities for loan entrustment with 4 organizations and associations. They are the Farmers Association, the Women's Union, the Veterans’ Union and Youth Communist Union. The transactions are taken place on a fixed day in 13 communes and the town throughout the district. By the end of May, the district’s Social Policy Bank had a loan turnover of 65,567 million VND; the revenue of the debt collection reached 44,103 million VND.
The total debit balance of 14 policy credit programs reached 260,399 million VND. The over-due debt is 403 million VND, accounting for 0.01% of total debit balance and the charge-off debt is 279 million VND. In the whole district, there have been 8,142 customers who are using loans as savings are the member of the Savings & Lending team, operating in 197 ones. On average, 15 teams are operating in each commune and town. Each team has an average of 41 members with an average debit balance of 1,321 million VND.
Mr. Pham Van Manh, the Director of the Transaction Office of Yen Thuy’s Social Policy Bank says that they have not only disbursed loans but they have also advised and supported the households how to use the loans effectively and for the right purpose. They have actively coordinated with other departments, the appropriate authorities and other unions to disseminate and guide the borrowers to apply the science and technology to the production and business and to build the appropriate economic models, gradually promoting the capital efficiency and increasing income for the people.
Through the evaluation, in 2018 the policy capital helped 534 households to escape poverty, reducing the poverty rate from 15.99% at the beginning of the year to 13.92% at the end of the year; creating jobs for 65 employees. 82 houses for the poor households were built. 210 rural clean water and environmental sanitation projects were also built and repaired.
With the assigned responsibility, in the coming time, the Social Policy Bank of Yen Thuy district has been trying to ensure that 100% of poor households and other policy beneficiaries who need and qualify will have the access to the products and services provided by the Social Policy Bank, contributing to effectively implement the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction and building new rural area.
The provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on November 20 coordinated with Hai Dang Group Hoa Binh Seafood Company Limited to release 1.5 tonnes of fries into Hoa Binh Lake to regenerate aquatic resources, with a total value of 266 million VND (10,460 USD).
