(HBO) – The index of industrial production in Hoa Binh province grew by around 9.5 percent in the first quarter compared to the same period last year, according to the provincial People’s Committee.
The industrial production value during the
period was estimated at more than 9.7 trillion VND (421.1 million USD), up 16
percent year on year.
In particular, the processing and manufacturing industry has
gradually recovered. The production of its beer and beverages, which are among
the industry’s key products, increased by some 6.49 percent, steel and metal
products up 10.64 percent, and cement rose 3.82 percent.
Thanks to new machinery and equipment, the An Phuc
Export Garment Company, based in Hang Tram town of Yen Thuy district, has
improved its productivity and provided stable jobs for local workers.
In terms of electricity generation and
distribution, the three-month power output surpassed 1.83 billion kWh,
equivalent to nearly 19 percent of this year’s target and up 66.3 percent year
on year. Meanwhile, the commercial electricity output was about 265.61 million
kWh, equivalent to 25.25 percent of the annual target and up 23 percent.
Besides, the mining industry maintained stable growth,
with the stone and ore mining output rising 2.8 percent and 0.68 percent from a
year earlier, respectively./.
Hoa Binh province’s economy posted an impressive Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth rate of 12.67% in the first quarter of 2025, representing a 12.76% year-on-year increase, the highest rate recorded since the beginning of the current tenure, according to the provincial Statistics Office. This robust growth reflects years of strategic groundwork and sets a strong foundation for the province’s annual growth target of over 10%.
