(HBO) - These days, taking advantage of favorable weather, farmers in Kim Boi commune (Kim Boi) are busy harvesting summer-autumn rice crops and preparing for spring crop cultivation.

Golden rice field stretching more than 25 hectares create a picturesque landscape in a valley of Coc Lam village. It is the large-sale farm that is not only viewed as the rice bowl of the commune, providing food supplies for residents, but also a magnificent feature promising to boost tourism in the area.
Bui Van Chuong, a villager of Coc Lam, said this season, his family cultivated about 1,080sqm of rice crops which is growing well thanks to abundant supply of water and fertiliser and close watch over the disease situation. He expects to produce 5,300 kilos of rice per ha from the field. It is a bumper crop, he said.
Coc Lam village has total rice area of over 40ha, including the 25-ha large-scale field.
Quach Van Hop, head of the village, said over the past several years, people have used threshers to harvest rice. It is very fast and convenient, helping local farmers cut costs, he said.
Bui Thi Hoi, Vice Chairman of Kim Boi Commune People’s Committee said this summer-autumn crop, the commune cultivates 440 ha of rice in total, which is expected to generate more than 5,000 kilos of rice per ha. Farmers are working around the clock to soon complete harvesting so they can start planting the winter-spring crop, she said.
Thanks to favourable weather and proper farming practices, the productivity and quality have been maintained./.
