(HBO) – Vietnam in general and Hoa Binh province in particular have still sustained good exports growth although the COVID-19 pandemic has been developing complicatedly around the world and disrupted international trade, according to the provincial People’s Committee.

The Esquel Garment Manufacturing (Vietnam) Co. Ltd, based in Luong Son Industrial Park, has managed to concurrently fight against COVID-19 and maintain operations, thus substantially contributing to total export value of Hoa Binh province.

In November, the province recorded about 118.198 million USD in exports, up 5.77 percent month on month. The 11-month figure is estimated at almost 1.1 billion USD, up 34.22 percent year on year and equivalent to 89.84 percent of this year’s target.

Aside from traditional markets such as the US, Japan, China, the Republic of Korea, and the EU, Hoa Binh has also boosted shipments to some new markets.

Also in November, it imported 93.719 million USD worth of goods, up 10.17 percent from the previous month. The import turnover stood at around 877.927 million USD in 11 months, up 18.15 percent year on year and equivalent to 89.58 percent of the target for this year.

The province has been working hard to diversify export markets and capitalise on the domestic market, aiming to achieve annual exports and imports growth rates of 18 percent and 12 percent on average./.
