(HBO) - In order to improve local farmers' income, Lac Son district has been striving to attract businesses and promote the role of cooperatives in creating and building agricultural production and sale development linkages towards a safe and sustainable manner. In particular, amidst the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the development of these linkages has proved effective, contributing to promoting agriculture and timely sale of agricultural products, and ensure their quality.

Hieu Thinh Green Agricultural Cooperative in Nhan Nghia
Commune currently has about 15 hectares of safe vegetables and livestock
farming. In this, the safe vegetable linkage model has a scale of 8 hectares,
and an income value of over 200 million VND per ha per crop. Ha Tien Thao,
director of the cooperative, said that over the recent years, the cooperative
has linked with the Republic of Korea’s enterprises to grow pumpkins, thus
contributing to increasing farmers' incomes. In addition, two years ago, the
cooperative signed a contract to produce ginger and pink banana with Pacific
Co., Ltd., which initially showed obvious effectiveness despite the complicated
developments of the pandemic. Therefore, the cooperative plans to expand the
farming area to meet the needs of the purchasers in a timely manner.
Determining that agricultural production has great value in
the economic structure of the district, over the past time, the district has
actively mobilised and guided local farmers to change the crop structure to
improve agricultural productivity and quality of key crops, and increase the
application of science and technology advances. As a result, the district has
gradually formed a number of concentrated and large-scale production areas, and
implemented production linkages.
Bui Van Khanh, Vice Chairman of the District People's
Committee, said agricultural and forestry production currently occupies for the
highest proportion in the economic structure of the district. From the end of
2021, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has oriented for an
investment project to build a preliminary processing factory and cold storage
to preserve agricultural products in the district. It has also supported the
locality to build infrastructure and roads to ensure the development of farming
areas. To facilitate the implementation of the project, Lac Son has been
implementing solutions to create conditions to attract businesses to invest in
agricultural production in the locality./.
The provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on November 20 coordinated with Hai Dang Group Hoa Binh Seafood Company Limited to release 1.5 tonnes of fries into Hoa Binh Lake to regenerate aquatic resources, with a total value of 266 million VND (10,460 USD).
