(HBO) – In the recent past, businesses and entrepreneurs in Hoa Binh province have exerted efforts to weather difficulties and challenges to promote production and business activities, thus considerably contributing to local economic growth. Upholding the obtained achievements, after the Lunar New Year holiday 2023, local companies have immediately applied themselves to boost production with the strong determination of reaching this year’s targets.

Workers of the Cap Global Co. Ltd, based in Luong Son Industrial Park in Luong Son district, have boosted production since the beginning of 2023.

In 2022, after the COVID-19 pandemic was brought under control, local enterprises stepped up production and business activities to make up for the time of production stagnation and supply chain disruptions. Besides their efforts, local Party committees and administrations also provided great support for enterprises and cooperatives.

Last year, Hoa Binh province posted growth of 9.03% in the gross regional domestic product (GRDP), 66.7 million VND (2,800 USD) in per capita GRDP, and over 5.27 trillion VND in the State budget revenue, including 2.3 trillion VND contributed by businesses, equivalent to 47% of the total collection.

Nguyen Long, an executive at the R Technical Research Vietnam Co. Ltd in the Da River Left Bank Industrial Park, said as the economy is predicted to continue facing numerous difficulties in 2023, his company has proactively cooperated with many domestic and foreign partners to expand production. It plans to increase its workforce from over 700 at present to 800 and looks to earn 15 - 17 million USD in revenue, up over 10% from last year.

In 2023, aside from advantages, many difficulties and challenges are also predicted for the Vietnamese economy and global ones. Given this, many enterprises in Hoa Binh are investing efforts in creating more jobs and seeking financial resources to ensure stable operations.

A representative of the Bigfa company, based in Luong Son Industrial Park, said that as it may be difficult for the firm to have sufficient material supplies this year, it has proactively developed a material production zone in Da Bac district and will expand this zone to Mai Chau district so as to promote production and create more jobs for local residents.

For 2023, the province targets a GRDP growth rate of 9%, per capita GRDP of 70.9 million VND, 7.28 trillion VND in the State budget collection, 1.69 billion USD in exports, 1.23 billion USD in imports, and 520 businesses and 60 cooperatives to be established.

To reach those targets, businesses, entrepreneurs, and cooperatives have a critically important role to play.

Ha Trung Nguyen, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial Business Association, said enterprises can develop sustainably and strongly only in a healthy business climate and with timely support from the administration.

He expressed his hope that leaders of the province, departments, sectors, and localities will continue stepping up investment and infrastructure building, pay more attention to dialogue with enterprises to grasp and tackle difficulties facing them, boost assistance for companies in promoting trade and seeking markets, and press on with administrative reform.

Enterprises also hope financial support measures will be carried out, and that banks will reduce lending interest rates, extend loan repayment deadlines, and increase lending limits so that they can have conditions to foster production and create more jobs, thereby contributing to local socio-economic development in 2023 and beyond, he added./.
