(HBO) -  A working delegation of Hoa Binh province led by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Chuong on October 18 attended the 2023 International Conference on Green and Innovation-driven Development in Cities and Towns held in Jiangsu, China. The conference, themed "jointly Creating a New Platform for a New Ecology for Shared New Benefits”, attracted more than 300 delegates from 18 countries around the world.

At the event, delegates discussed three main groups of issues including: Towns with distinctive features - the new reality in Jiangsu on China's path towards modernisation; developing high quality agriculture; and protecting ancient riverside cities and developing tourism. The conference was also an opportunity for authorities of cities and towns from around the world to strengthen and expand exchanges and cooperation.

Speaking at the event, Chuong introduced to participants Hoa Binh’s potential and advantages. He shared that Hoa Binh is focusing on attracting investment in green, clean, high-quality, modern industrial production fields; production and processing of agricultural, forestry and fishery products; resort tourism; and urban development associated with ecology. The provincial authorities have a plan to prioritise investment in essential infrastructure such as roads, power supply, construction planning in locations with potential and advantages to create favourable conditions for investors.

Affirming that Hoa Binh province has paid special attention to green and innovation-driven development in cities and urban areas, he said that in recent years, the agricultural sector has attached special importance to developing agriculture in a circular, smart and high-tech direction to respond to climate change, manage natural resources and protect the environment in agriculture and rural areas.

Hoa Binh province continues to pay attention to researching and expanding markets, promoting import and export of agricultural products, and OCOP (one commune one product) products. It is also implementing the project on developing green urban areas adaptive to climate change in Hoa Binh city, Hoa Binh province using ODA loans, with goals of improving capacity to respond to climate change and natural disasters, enhancing flood drainage and anti-flooding capabilities, and improving urban management capacity for Hoa Binh city.

Chuong expressed his hope to learn about green and innovation-driven development models in cities and urban areas, and to welcome representatives of city and town administrations, businesses and investors to Hoa Binh province to seek cooperation opportunities.
