Determining trade promotion activities, supply-demand connection, cooperation in product production and consumption is one of the important tasks that will have great impact on the development of cooperatives.

Thanks to the help of the provincial Cooperative Alliance, grapefruits of the My Tan Organic Agricultural Cooperative in Cao Duong commune (Luong Son) have been put on sale in big markets.

In 2023, the provincial Cooperative Alliance organised four conferences to connect supply and demand and introduce products in Hoa Binh, Hanoi, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh which attracted the participation of over 100 cooperatives and enterprises in and outside the province.

The alliance held 10 thematic conferences between 52 businesses and more than 300 cooperatives and cooperative groups in districts and cities as well as working sessions with businesses and cooperatives to promote the formation of production and consumption chains for agricultural products, thus helping forming raw material areas that link to sustainable supply chains in the province. It also facilitated connections between large-scale agricultural cooperatives and processing factories and selling units inside and outside the province.

The provincial Cooperative Alliance has coordinated with relevant agencies in devising guidelines and policies on developing collective economy in the locality. Through member groups’ activities, a linkage has been created between cooperatives and affiliated association member households, thereby supporting each other to develop and create a chain of links in production - business, contributing to improving members' income and helping cooperatives introduce products.

Do Quoc Huong, Director of the My Tan Organic Agricultural Cooperative, in Luong Son district’s Cao Duong commune said that over the past two years, the provincial Cooperative Alliance has paid attention to assisting cooperatives and cooperative groups in market accession.

As products of his cooperative are now available in Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and neighbouring provinces, their consumption and product value have increased, thus farmers are very excited, he said.

The alliance has also organised training classes on cooperative administration, digital transformation and application of the Fourth Industrial Revolution’s technology for staff in charge of management and accounting, creating confidence and experience for cooperatives to overcome difficulties.

Currently, the province has 654 collective economic organisations that operate effectively with stable production and business, including 465 cooperatives, three people's credit funds and 186 cooperative groups. The average income of workers in the cooperative reaches 4.5 million VND (185 USD) per person per month. The average revenue of a cooperative and cooperative group is estimated at 1.75 billion VND and 187 million VND, respectively.

According to Tran An Dinh, chairman of the provincial Cooperative Alliance, the most outstanding feature of the alliance is cohesion among members has been improved. Cooperative members and affiliated groups sell more goods.

He said that next year the alliance will continue to promote its key role in developing the collective economy, effectively perform its function of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of members, attract more members and promote sustainable development of the collective economic sector.
