As 2024 is an important pivotal year in implementing the Resolution of the 25th Congress of the Da Bac district Party organisation in the 2020 – 2025 term, from the beginning of the year, Party committees and authorities in the district have proactively implemented emulation movements associated with their political tasks. In the first half of this year, the emulation movements were widely deployed, contributing to creating momentum for the development of the district, especially in the economy.

Building on positive results in implementing the emulation movement "Da Bac district makes joint efforts to build new rural areas" in the 2021 – 2025 period, the district has been synchronously deploying mechanisms, policies, programmes, and resources to realise targets set for this year.
According to the district People's Committee, by the end of June 2024, the whole district only had 4 out of its 16 communes meeting new-style rural area standards; on average, each commune fulfilled13.06 criteria. Of the 12 communes that are striving to be recognised as new-style rural areas, only Yen Hoa commune has met 15 criteria while theo other 11 communes have completed 10 - 13 criteria.
So far, the district has had five model residential areas and 17 model gardens. It planned to have three more model gardens in 2024. The district also strives to have additional three products recognised as One Commune-One Product (OCOP) products this year, including dried black carp with "mac khen” (Zanthoxylum rhetsa, a spice that is quite close to pepper with a mild spicy taste and intense aroma); braised catfish; and community-based tourism in Da Bia village, Tien Phong commune.
In an effort to improve the effectiveness of economic models, Da Bac district continued promoting the implementation of its tourism development plan in 2024 in combination with the roadmap to turn the Hoa Binh lake tourist area into a national tourist area by 2025 and other tourism development plans of the province.
In the first half of this year, the district welcomed 145,460 tourists including 140,900 domestic tourists and 4,560 international tourists, earning tourism revenue of nearly 64 billion VND (2.53 million USD).
This year, the People's Committee of Da Bac district has launched several emulation movements, namely "Da Bac district makes joint efforts to build new-style rural areas"; "Da Bac district cadres, civil servants and public employees implement office culture"; "For the poor - no one is left behind". It also had movements in agricultural, forestry and fishery production; industrial production, trade, services; finance, and banking.
In general, those movements have closely followed the implementation of political tasks of Party committees, authorities, agencies and units in the district.
In the first six months of the year, the district recorded positive economic growth partly thanks to the emulation movements. The production value rose 9.01% year on year, GDP value reached 497.3 billion VND, up 9.83%, the economic structure has shifted in the right direction, with agro-forestry-fishery accounting for 45.8%, industry-construction 14.4% and trade-services 39.8%. The achievements are expected to create the necessary momentum for the district to fulfil economic targets set for this year.
Ban Kim Quy, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Bac district People's Committee said that the emulation movements were launched in different fields to create a strong and comprehensive driving force for local socio-economic development.
The provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on November 20 coordinated with Hai Dang Group Hoa Binh Seafood Company Limited to release 1.5 tonnes of fries into Hoa Binh Lake to regenerate aquatic resources, with a total value of 266 million VND (10,460 USD).
On the afternoon of November 16, Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, held a reception for a delegation from the Indian Embassy led by Ambassador Sandeep Arya. The delegation included the chairperson of the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, embassy personnel, and Indian businesses operating in Vietnam. Accompanying Long at the meeting were leaders of the provincial People's Committee and representatives from various departments and sectors.
Hoa Binh province hosted the "Meet India 2024" conference on November 16, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral economic ties between Vietnam and India.
In recent times, with its core role in building and fostering great national unity, Cao Phong district's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has actively carried out its responsibilities and front work, and closely collaborated with member organisations to encourage locals to implement the Party’s guidelines, and the State’s policies and laws. At the same time, it has worked to promote the dynamism, creativity, and contributions of officials, Party members, and local people to help the district develop further.
From a type of bulb used as a seasoning for daily meals, thanks to the efforts of local authorities and farmers, shallots have become a commercial crop in Yen Thuy district, contributing to promoting the transformation of crop structure in agricultural production, bringing higher incomes to locals.
