Yen Tri commune has been recognised as a model new-style rural commune, the first of its kind in the province. So far, six out of the 13 residential areas in the commune have been recognised as model residential areas, with 45 model gardens. The average per capita income in the commune for 2024 is estimated to reach 68 million VND (2,682 USD). The commune still has 31 poor households, all of which belong to social protection groups, and the welfare of policy beneficiaries has always been given great attention.

Addressing the event, NA Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong praised the achievements of Yen Tri. He was particularly impressed by the commune’s leadership in digital transformation, which has significantly improved the lives of local people. He also highlighted the remarkable efforts of the residents themselves in contributing their time and effort to building their community, making Yen Tri a model for other areas to follow.

However, the NA Vice Chairman noted that the local potential and strengths had not yet been fully exploited. He suggested that the commune focus on developing its forestry economy, protecting and cultivating forest carbon credits, as well as medicinal plants under the forest canopy. He proposed forming raw material zones and progressing towards deep processing of agricultural products locally to increase the value of farm produce and enhance agricultural productivity. Additionally, he recommended developing eco-tourism, combining it with experiences of the local community life. He encouraged the people of Yen Tri to continue upholding their revolutionary tradition, getting out of poverty, striving for prosperity, and contributing to the advancement of the nation.

The NA Vice Chairman presented 40 gift packages to policy families and poor households in Yen Tri commune, each valued at 1.3 million VND.

Following the visit to Yen Tri, the delegation went on to tour a model orchard cultivating export-standard grapefruit in Dai Dong hamlet, Ngoc Luong commune of Yen Thuy district.
