The Hoa Binh provincial People's Committee held a monthly meeting on May 29 to assess the implementation of socio-economic development tasks in the first six months of 2025, the progress of key projects, and some other important issues.
Standing Vice Chairman of the
provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Toan speaks at the meeting.
In the first six months of this year, the
provincial People's Committee resolutely directed the implementation of tasks
and measures to promote economic growth, aiming to achieve the growth target of
over 10% in 2025.
During the reviewed period, the province posted
an estimated growth rate of 9.99%, and state budget revenue of 3.59 trillion
VND, up 10% compared to the same period in 2024.
The province’s industrial production continued
to improve and maintain growth momentum, with the industrial production index
increased by an estimated 20% over the same period last year. Agricultural
production expanded quite well. Investment promotion activities were enhanced.
Health care and food safety issues received great attention while education and
training quality remained stable. Besides, national defence and security
safeguarding tasks were carried out properly.
Regarding key projects, the province started
work on 12 projects, including five projects funded by the state budget and
seven with non-state budget financing. However, some projects already underway
are lagging behind schedule due to difficulties and obstacles in site clearance
and investment procedures. For the 12 projects that have not yet started
construction, the provincial People's Committee has supported investors to
continue handling investment procedures, land procedures, environmental impact
assessment, and site clearance, so that their construction could start before August
30.
At the meeting, officials pointed out
outstanding problems and limitations, and discussed key tasks and solutions for
the coming time, particularly measures to increase budget revenue, disburse
public investment capital, and accelerate site clearance for key projects. They
also discussed the implementation of the two-level local administration model
so as to ensure smooth operations after merging commune-level administrative
units and ceasing district-level administrations.
Participants a;sp gave their opinions on a draft
plant to transfer district-level healthcare centres under the district-level
People's Committees to the provincial Department of Health. They also examined
a proposal on the issuance of the 2025 investment promotion programme and some
other important issues.
Concluding the event, Toan affirmed that the
drastic direction and governance by the provincial Party Committee and the
provincial People's Committee have created positive changes in local
socio-economic development, reflected in the improved economic growth and state
budget revenue in the first six months of the year. This is an important
prerequisite for the province to continue developing in the remaining months of
the year.
He urged departments and agencies to resolutely
boost the implementation of key projects, strengthen inspection and
supervision, ensure timely removal of obstacles, speed up the disbursement of
public investment, and accelerate national target programmes.
The provincial official also asked departments,
agencies, and localities to push ahead with the eradication of makeshift and
dilapidated houses for the disadvantaged and revolution contributors, pay due
attention to the merger of commune-level administrative units, properly
organise the high school entrance exams and high school graduation exams, and
invest adequate efforts in natural disaster and climate change response.
