Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, on February 19 chaired a meeting of the provincial Party Committee's Standing Board over socio-economic development issues.
Also attending the event were Bui Thi Minh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the provincial People's Council; Bui Duc Hinh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; and other members of the Standing Board, among others.

In its proposal, the Standing Board of the Party Committee of the provincial People's Committee sought opinions on the establishment of Dong Tam II Industrial Cluster in Lac Thuy district and the selection of an investor to build its technical infrastructure there. According to the proposal, the cluster covers an area of 66.31 hectares in Dong Tam commune, with an estimated total investment of over 612 billion VND (24 million USD).
Long agreed with the opinions of members of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and approved the plan to establish the cluster. The Standing Board of the Party Committee of the provincial People's Committee was tasked with working on investor selection, ensuring that the construction must align with technology and environmental protection requirements.
Regarding the proposal for the investment project to build a facility serving production of Hoang Long Cement Plant in Cao Duong commune, Luong Son district, Long urged the Standing Board of the Party Committee of the provincial People's Committee to direct local authorities to solve any pending difficulties to ensure the plant is operational by the end of May. The provincial Department of Finance was tasked with advising the People's Committee to promptly issue a decision on the construction of power infrastructure in service of the project. The People's Committee of Luong Son district was asked to coordinate with the investor to address all related issues.
For the proposal to approve the project for exploiting the Basalt quarry in the Suoi Nay area in the district’s Hoa Son commune, Long emphasised the need for further research and review before granting approval. The Standing Board of the Party Committee of the provincial People's Committee was assigned to direct the relevant authorities to reconsider licensing, infrastructure development, and environmental impacts, ensuring that economic development goes in tandem environmental protection and the welfare of local residents.
In the proposal for additional central budget funding for 2025, the total funding requested exceeds 37 trillion VND to support infrastructure development in transportation, sports, information technology, education, culture, healthcare, and rural agriculture.
The provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board also agreed with proposals to invest in Phu Minh Ecological Urban Area in Thinh Minh commune, Hoa Binh city, and Eco Villas Cao Son Resort in Cao Son commune, Luong Son district. The Secretary assigned the Standing Board of the Party Committee of the provincial People's Committee to direct the implementation in accordance with legal regulations and to create investment norms in the province to attract further investment.
