Hoa Binh youths depart for military service.
In Kim Boi district, at 7am, 274 local youths gathered at the district’s stadium. Along both sides of the road to the stadium, thousands of people stood under the national flag, waving their hands, and encouraging the young soldiers to fulfil their mission to safeguard the country.
Among the new recruits are the twin brothers Bui Thanh Chien and Bui The Thang from Du Sang commune, along with Bui Quyen Anh and Bui Duc Vuong from Hung Son commune. They volunteered to enlist together. Coming fom poor families, they worked for companies to support their parents after graduating from high school. Despite having stable jobs and good incomes, they eagerly chose to quit their jobs and join the army upon receiving their conscription notices. When military officials informed them that, under the Military Service Law, one brother from each pair could defer service, they encouraged one another and submitted voluntary enlistment applications together.
This spirit of readiness to serve the nation has inspired many young people in the province to set aside personal affairs, fulfilling their civic duty and responsibility in nation-building and safeguarding. For example, Mua A Viet from Pa Co Lon village, Hang A Trong from Pa Khom village, and Trang A Tua from Xa Linh village, Pa Co commune (Mai Chau)—all newly married—chose to leave their young families behind after passing the conscription examination.
According to the quota for 2025, Hoa Binh is expected to enlist a total of 1,958 citizens. Of these, 1,600 will serve in the military, while 358 will serve in the public security force. Colonel Trinh Duc Thiem, Commander of the provincial Military Command, Vice Chairman of the provincial Military Service Council, said that this achievement is the result of effective registration and management of citizens in the eligible age group. The recruitment process involved strict physical exams, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
The efforts to raise awareness and educate citizens about their responsibilities under the Military Service Law have also played a key role. Thanks to this, the recruitment process for 2025 has met the set target with high-quality recruits, he added.
