(HBO) – The Standing Board of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee held a meeting with local press agencies, journalists, writers and artists on February 27 on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

 The event was also attended by member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Tran Dang Ninh, members of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, and leaders of the provincial People’s Council and People’s Committee.

 In 2017, press agencies in Hoa Binh aligned their activities with the province’s political tasks, stepped up communications, and reported on problems in all social aspects in a timely manner. Their activities helped ensure political stability, enhance the unanimity within the Party, the society’s consensus and people’s trust, and create momentum for achieving the targets set for the Party and political system building, economic, cultural and social development, defence-solidarity consolidation, and social order ensuring.

Literature and art activities in Hoa Binh have been diversified, thus helping to support local political tasks and attaining many achievements at exhibitions and festivals.

In 2017, the Bua Liem Vang Press Awards and the contest on the history of the Vietnam-Laos special relationship were organised in conformity with the schedule set up by the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission and the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board.

Addressing the meeting, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh lauded the accomplishments that the press agencies, journalists, writers and artists obtained last year.

He emphasised some key tasks in the time ahead, including continuing to enhance the Party’s leadership of activities of press agencies and the Hoa Binh Association of Literature and Arts. Meanwhile, local journalists, writers and artists need to unceasingly reform their activities in all fields such as press, literature, music, fine art, and photography.

 They should boost the collection, preservation and popularisation of traditional cultural values of local ethnic groups so as to promote tourism. It is necessary to bring into play the Muong ethnic script in press, literature and art activities, at schools, and in community.

 Secretary Bui Van Tinh told participants to increase the dissemination of the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress, the resolution of the fourth meeting of the 12th-tenure Party Central Committee on Party building and rectification, and the Politburo’s Directive 05 on enhancing the studying and following of late President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, moral and style. Press agencies and the Literature and Arts Association also need to improve their staff’s capacity to as to successfully carry out assigned tasks.

 On this occasion, a merit certificate of the provincial People’s Committee was presented to Bui Huy Vong, who was granted with the State Award for Literature and Arts in 2017. Authorities also gave rewards to 11 collectives and 16 individuals with outstanding entries in the contest on the history of the Vietnam-Laos special relationship in 2017, along with 20 individuals and groups with excellent entries in the Bua Liem Vang Press Awards held by the province./.
