The 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) discussed in groups reports on the leadership and instruction work of the CPV Politburo and Secretariat in 2018 during the first day of the committee’s 9th session on December 25.

Earlier, during
the opening sitting, Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong
delivered opening remarks, in which he stressed that issues on the agenda are
all important, and participants must uphold their responsibility to actively
engage in discussions and issue a resolution at the end of the session.
Politburo member and standing member of the Party Central
Committee’s Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong presented a proposal of the Politburo
on carrying out a vote of confidence for members of the Politburo and the
Secretariat.
The meeting continued with group discussions on the
leadership and instruction work of the CPV Politburo and Secretariat in 2018.
In the afternoon, the Party Central Committee members studied
documents and conducted a vote of confidence on the members of the Politburo
and the Secretariat.
