The State of Vietnam strongly supports court cooperation with the Republic of Korea (RoK), placing great importance on the ties amid the current radical reform in Vietnam, said President Tran Dai Quang.


At a reception on August 28 inHanoi for the visiting Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Korea (RoK), Yang Sung-tae, President Quang hailed the outcomes of his guest’s talks with the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam (SPCV).

He suggested the SPCV should further cooperation with RoK partners, including the Supreme Court and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), to learn from their experience in improving the judiciary.

He thanked the RoK Supreme Court for helping Vietnam train judges and court personnel, sharing judicial experience, and carrying out the Vietnam Court Academy project.

The State leader said he hopes for the early signing of a project between the SPCV and KOICA on boosting transparency and quality of judgment in Vietnam as it is of great significance for Vietnam’s judicial reform as well as for bilateral court cooperation.

Yang Sung-tae said based on growing Vietnam – RoK strategic partnership, his agency and the SPCV have been working hand in hand particularly in exchanging high-ranking delegations and judicial experience.

He asked President Quang to support future projects between the two countries’ court sectors.

President Quang said Vietnam welcomes RoK President Moon Jae-in attending the APEC Economic Leaders' Week in Vietnam in November and his official visit to the country in the time to come.

Meeting with the Korean guest on the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh greatly valued the support of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Government and people to Vietnam’s national reform and development, including legal and judicial reforms.

He thanked the RoK for helping the implementation of a project to enhance capacity of the School for Court Officials, which is now the Vietnam Court Academy.


Binh expressed desire to learn more from the RoK Supreme Court’s experience in developing the electronic legal procedure model as well as the establishment of an Invention Court and courts for families and adolescents.

He affirmed the support of the Vietnamese Government for the further promotion of cooperation between the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam (SPCV) and RoK partners, including the Supreme Court and the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).


He also asked SPCV and KOICA to soon launch a project to improve the transparency and judgment quality of courts in Vietnam.

Yang Sung-tae, in turn said he hopes Binh will continue supporting the cooperation between the RoK Supreme Court and the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam, as well as the project to improve the transparency and judgment quality of Vietnam’s courts.

The Hoa Binh provincial People’s Committee held its monthly conference in virtual form on April 2 to review draft documents to be submitted to the standing board of the provincial Party Committee and others under its management along with some other important issues. Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khanh chaired the event, which was connected with the people's committees of districts and cities in Hoa Binh.
