(HBO) – The Hoa Binh provincial People's Committee held a conference commending the most outstanding farmers in 2018 and the new rural development campaign in Hoa Binh province for the 2016-2018 period. Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Quang and Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Farmers’ Association Pham Tien Nam attended the event.

As of the late 2018, the province was home to 35,938 farming
households achieving the title of outstanding production and trade families at
all levels, including 112 ones at the central levels, 2,380 at the provincial
level, 8,853 at the district level, and 24,593 at the communal level. Via the
campaign, many examples of outstanding farmers in production and trade, farming
households, cooperatives, co-working and consumption groups in value chain have
brought about high economic efficiency. Statistics showed that 90 households
earned an income of 500 million VND – 1 billion VND, 756 households earned
300-500 million VND, 2,970 households gained 200-300 million VND while 32,130
others acquired 100-200 million VND.
In the campaign "Hoa Binh province joins hand for new rural
development”, farmers played an active role and met criteria. As of the late
2018, the average income per capita in the province reached 24.8 million VND,
95 out of 191 communes met income criteria, the rate of poor households in
rural areas was reduced to 15 percent, with 80 out of 191 communes meeting
criteria. From 2016-2018, the province raised over 6.654 trillion VND for new
rural development. As of the late 2018, the province recorded 63 communes
meeting new rural development criteria, accounting for 33 percent.

On the occasion, nine households with outstanding achievements in
the production emulation movement received the Prime Minister’s certificates of
merit. The provincial People’s Committee granted certificates of merit to 136
outstanding households and farmers in the emulation campaign 2018 and in new
rural development campaign. The provincial People’s Committee presented the
flag of emulation to 14 collectives and 41 certificates of merit to collectives
with achievements in the new rural development movement for the 2016-2018 period./.
A delegation of the Indian Embassy in Vietnam led by Ambasador Sandeep Arya paid a working trip to Hoa Binh province on April 1, aiming to explore cooperation opportunities. The delegation was received by Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, along with Nguyen Van Chuong, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, and representatives from various departments and agencies.

The meeting was chaired by Nguyen Phi Long, an alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee. It was attended by senior provincial officials, including Bui Thi Minh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council; Bui Duc Hinh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; other members of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee; and members of the document subcommittee.
