(HBO) - The Hoang Van Thu gifted high school in the northern mountainous province of Hoa Binh on May 18 held a talk on President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of his 129th birth anniversary (May 19, 1890 - 2019).

Art performances praised contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

At the event, teachers and students of the school, delegates, and guests reviewed the self-study spirit and ambition of President Ho Chi Minh and the implementation of the President’s testament in the building of four virtues: industriousness, thrift, honesty and righteousness.

They highlighted the self-study spirit of each person and encouraged the young generation to develop a passion for learning.

Notably, the talk had such guest speakers as Prof., Dr Pham Tat Dong (who is from the first batch of the Hoang Van Thu gifted high school, former Vice Chairman of the CPV Central Committee’s Information and Education Commission), and now Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education; Assoc. Prof., Dr Dang Quoc Bao (who is also from the first batch of the Hoang Van Thu gifted high school), and former Rector of the National Academy of Education Management); and Dr Nguyen Thanh Son (Student of the Hoang Van Thu gifted high school’s 1966-1969 batch), and ex-Principal of the Hoang Van Thu gifted high school).

Participating students and teachers gained new insights into various issues, especially how they would raise their awareness of learning to meet real demand of life and the young generation, as well as the knowledge needed in the integration and globalisation process./.
