(HBO) - In the first six months of 2019, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) of the northwestern province of Hoa Binh revealed a positive growth of 10.3 percent compared to the same period last year.
The provincial industrial production value
was estimated at 18.3 trillion VND (nearly 785.98 million USD), a year-on-year
rise of 15.46 percent, or 48.93 percent of the year’s plan.
Major industrial sectors and products also recorded
expansion. Among these, processing and manufacturing industries continued to be
a driving force for the province’s industrial growth.
Notably, the production of some staples of Hoa
Binh, such as apparel, electronic products, and construction materials
including brick and cement, continued to expand. Electricity production and
distribution saw stable growth, ensuring demand for business activities and
people’s lives.
Meanwhile, mining showed sign of recovery
against the same period last year, as output of construction stone was 8.4
percent higher and that of coal and ore inched up between 0.2 percent and 0.8
percent.
A delegation of the Indian Embassy in Vietnam led by Ambasador Sandeep Arya paid a working trip to Hoa Binh province on April 1, aiming to explore cooperation opportunities.
