The provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Action Programme No.533/Ctr-SNN dated September 22, 2016 on the implementation of targets under the Resolution by the 16thprovincial Party Congress. Almost all the targets and tasks were surpassed or equivalent to those during the same period last year. The agro-forestry-fisheries sector accounts for 20.64 percent in 2019, which is estimated at 19.7 percent by 2020. The average income of each ha of cultivation area is estimated at 126 million VND and that of aquaculture area at 150 million VND, surpassing the target.

Concluding the inspection, Tinh lauded the provincial agriculture and rural development sector for fulfilling the resolution’s targets. He also pointed out shortcomings and weaknesses, such as spontaneous agriculture development, limited leadership on new-style rural area building, risks of rural environment hygiene.

He suggested that the sector perform several major tasks such as giving consultation to the province on the issuance of a thematic resolution on forestry economic development, continuing to propose agricultural development mechanisms and policies, reviewing master plans on agricultural development, encouraging farmers to switch to new production methods and products of higher value on the same land, adopting technological advances in production to meet high demand in the market, stepping up new rural area building, investing more in agriculture infrastructure, dealing with risks regarding natural disasters and environment pollution, developing high-tech agriculture in combination with tourism services, and improving production values and farmers’ lives./.
