(HBO) – In the 2009-2019 period, Mai Chau district built and implemented 258 models of efficient mass mobilisation, of which there were 153 economic models, 53 socio-cultural models, 51 models in security-national defence and 51 others in building political system.

The models have proved effective in socio-economic restructuring in the locality. Vice Standing Secretary of the district’s Party Committee Ha Van Di attributed the success to the right selection of targets for the models and the serious implementation of set tasks.

A "road of flower” built under the mass mobilisation emulation campaign by the women’s union in Tong Dau commune (Mai Chau district).

To ensure consistency in awareness and activities of officials, Party members and residents, the Party Committee of Mai Chau district promoted educational activities.

Depending on their functions and responsibilities, collectives and individuals selected suitable and practical targets and tasks. They also carried out pilot models to learn from experience.

Many models have helped to solve problems in the locality. One of the most outstanding examples is a model to ensure security and social order implemented by the Party cell in Rut village of Tong Dau commune.

With voluntary members being secretary of the Party committee, hamlet chiefs and heads of political and social organisations in the village, a self-managing group conducts regular night patrols to prevent burglary and robbery. At the same time, the group launched a number of communications campaigns to persuade drug addicts to go to detoxification centres, and worked with police of the district to create documents for five people to attend such centres.

After 10 years of implementation, the model in Rut village has showed positive results. Of note, the village reported no new drug addicts and eradicated drug trading by individuals.

From the effectiveness of the self-managing group in Rut village, Tong Dau multiplied the model throughout the commune. To date, the model has been carried out in the whole district and become an example for the efficient emulation campaign on mass mobilisation in Mai Chau.

In the 2009-2019 period, activities in the campaign were launched in tandem with the implementation of political tasks such as administrative reform, change of work manners, along with raising awareness for civil servants to have the right attitude in serving the people. The campaign has also involved local people in economic development, poverty reduction and the programme on building new-style rural areas./.
