(HBO) - A working delegation of Hoa Binh provincial People’s Committee led by its Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Chuong had a working session with representatives from the provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Students and the Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted.

In the 2019-2020 academic year, the provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Students has 67 regular teachers, six specialised groups and 22 classes with 726 students, in which the 10th grade has 277 students, the 11th grade has 230 students and the 12th grade has 219 ones. In the first semester, the school had 22.55 percent of excellent students, 67.31 percent of students holding moderate learning capacity and 7.14 percent of students having average learning capacity.
The school proposes building 25 more rooms for the boarding area, recruiting enough contract staff, equipping desks, chairs, classrooms, laboratories, raising scholarships forhigh school students, and providing regular funding to repair electricity and water in students' accommodations, and providing financial support to hire cooking staff.
In this academic year, the Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted has 1,377 students. In the first semester, the school had 65.94 percent of excellent students, 32.39 percent of students with moderate learning capacity, 1.38 percent of students with average learning capacity, 0.22 percent of weak students and 0.07 percent of students with bad learning capacity. Twelve students won prizes at the national excellent student competition, 286 won provincial-level competition prizes and four got prizes at the provincial science and technology competition. The school proposed the provincial People's Committee, departments and sectors to help repair 45 classrooms, and equip it with projectors and equipment, issue policies to attract excellent teachers and support students who wins prizes at national and international competitions.
At the working session, Vice Chair Chuong praised the two schools for their efforts to overcome difficulties and get many achievements in recent years.
In the coming times, the two schools should proactively coordinate with the Departments of Education and Training, Home Affairs and Finance to solve the challenges and difficulties they are facing, Chuong said.
He asked the schoold to proactively recruit quality teachers, leave out unqualified teachers, and review policies benefiting national-level excellent students to submit them to the provincial People’s Committe. /.
