Leading officials of the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for
Information and Education check and assess the quality of entries of the "Sea,
islands and the 65th traditional day of heroic Vietnamese People's Navy” quiz.
In response to the event organised by the VPN Department of
Politics, the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Information and
Education directed the Commissions for Information and Education of district
and city Party Committees to join the quiz, post its rules on mass media and
encourage officials, Party members and locals to take part.
After nearly one month from March 9 to April 6, the
provincial commission – the standing office of the quiz – received 14,891
entries from organisations and individuals in the province. Some units having
large numbers of entries include Luong Son district (3,325), Hoa Binh city, Kim
Boi district, Tan Lac district, the provincial Women’s Union and the provincial
Federation of Labour (each with more than 1,000 entries).
Especially, many localities in far-flung and underprivileged
areas actively participated in the event. Many participants devoted their
enthusiasm and time in their works with attractive illustrations.
Many works with high quality, logic layout and rich content
attract readers, including those by Ha Thi Chanh from Cao Phong district Party
Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, Bui Thi Thanh Huyen from
the provincial Learning Encouragement Association, and Ta Thi Phuong Nga from
the provincial Women’s Union. The organising board selected the most outstanding entries
to send to the Naval Technical Institute.
Bui Tien Luc, deputy head of the commission, said that the
contest met quality requirements and attracted a large number of participants,
thus contributing to disseminating the values of Vietnamese sea and islands;
safeguarding Vietnam’s sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction at sea;
improving public awareness and responsibility of environmental protection,
marine economic development and the observance of laws related to sea and
islands, and at the same time effectively combating propaganda activities by
hostiles at home and abroad which take advantage of sovereignty issues at sea
to harm the great national unity as well as Vietnam’s fine external relations
with its neighbouring countries./.
