(HBO) - The preparatory session of the 17th congress of the Hoa Binh Party Organisation took place at the provincial cultural palace on October 1. The congress is scheduled for October 1 – 3 with the participation of 347 delegates representing 67,000 local members of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Hoa Binh city is decorated to welcome the congress.

 On the morning of October 1, the delegates offered incense at the monument of late President Ho Chi Minh before kicking off the preparatory meeting. At the function, they passed working regulations, the agenda, and a number of related contents; announced election regulations; elected the executive group, secretariat, and inspection team; and held group discussions on documents to be submitted.

On October 2, the congress is scheduled to begin, reviewing reports on the result of the preparatory session and the performances of the 16th provincial Party Committee. It will see the submission of the human resources plan; the discussion of submitted documents; and the election of members the 17th provincial Party Committee. The first sitting of the 17th provincial Party Committee will also take place on the day to elect the committee’s standing board, secretary, vice secretaries, inspection commission, and head of the inspection commission.

On October 3, the human resources plan is expected to be passed, prominent delegates will be voted to attend the 13th Party Congress, and the new provincial Party Committee will debut.

The congress is an occasion to consolidate results of the 2015 – 2020 tenure that need to be promoted and pointed out shortcomings of the period; and to assess opportunities, challenges, and development demand of the 2020 – 2025 tenure.
