(HBO) – The Standing Board of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee held a meeting on March 23 under the chair of Ngo Van Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, to review the leadership of task performance in the first quarter and launch key duties and solutions for the next three months.

Ngo Van Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, addresses the meeting.

In the first quarter of this year, the Party committees and authorities at all levels have shown good performance in directing the implementation of political and socio-economic development tasks, building the Party and political system, and concurrently fighting against COVID-19 and boosting socio-economic development. They have also done a good job of directing preparations for the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and all-level People’s Council for 2021-2026.

The local economy grew by about 11.56 percent in the January – March period, with agriculture, forestry and fisheries up 3.18 percent; industry – construction 20.41 percent; and services 5.87 percent. Cultural and social aspects remained stable while defence – security continued to be ensured and external activities expanded.

However, participants in the meeting also pointed out certain problems in the examination of Party units and members suspected of committing violations, the attraction of investment, the development of enterprises, site clearance, the settlement of projects lagging behind schedule, State budget collection, and the disbursement of investment capital.

Apart from reviewing task performance in the first quarter, they also identified difficulties and solutions for the second quarter and the whole year.

Addressing the meeting, Ngo Van Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, noted improvements in the performance of political tasks and the relatively good economic growth.

He asked all-level Party committees, authorities, Vietnam Fatherland Front committees, and organisations to focus on implementing Resolution No 01-NQ/TU, issued on December 25, 2020 by the provincial Party Committee, on the targets and tasks for 2021; push ahead with carrying out the resolutions of the 13th National Party Congress and the 17th provincial Party Congress; and thoroughly prepare for the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for 2021-2026.

He also requested continued efforts to simultaneously combat COVID-19 and boost socio-economic development, underlining the need to keep working to improve the province’s business climate and competitiveness and remove obstacles to important projects.

It is also necessary to continue paying attention to cultural, social, healthcare, and educational aspects, along with ensuring defence – security and social order and safety, Tuan said, ordering relevant agencies to quickly finalise regulations on the coordination in examination, monitoring, settlement of inspection conclusions, and handling of cadres with violations so as to enhance administrative discipline and promote state employees’ sense of responsibility./.
