(HBO) – Standing members of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee convened a meeting on May 25 to discuss the preparation for building Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh Expressway and Hoa Binh 6 Bridge. Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Ngo Van Tuan chaired the event.

Ngo Van Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, addresses the meeting.

Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh Expressway is part of Hanoi - Hoa Binh - Son La - Dien Bien Expressway, which links the capital city with northwestern provinces of Vietnam. The first phase of the Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh Expressway construction was carried out in the build-operate-transfer (BOT) format and already came into operation.

This project is meant meet the demand for transport connectivity among the northwestern region, including Hoa Binh province, Hanoi, and other localities in the region, thereby helping to ease the burden on National Highway 6 and facilitate local socio-economic development.

The 22.7km-long Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh Expressway consists of 6.75km running through Hanoi and another 15.95km traversing Hoa Binh.

Ngo Van Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, agreed on the need to invest in the expressway project, urging immediate implementation of site clearance.

This project, together with some other transport projects, should be turned into key ones and have their construction and financial plans finalised early, he requested.

Also at the meeting, participants gave opinions on the investment in Hoa Binh 6 Bridge, which is said to be critically important to completing the expressway system and boosting the transport connectivity of residential areas along the Da River, expected to generate considerable socio-economic benefits.

Given this, the official demanded that the bridge should have a beautiful and modern architecture while investment procedures be implemented seriously./.
