(HBO) – Ngo Van Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, and head of the National Assembly deputies’ delegation of Hoa Binh, had a working session with Vietnamese Consul General in Japan’s Fukuoka city Vu Binh on December 6 to discuss cooperation in agriculture and human resources between the province and the Kyushu region of Japan. The event was also attended by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dinh Cong Su and officials of local departments and sectors.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation in agriculture and human resources between Hoa Binh and the Kyushu region, which consists of eight southwestern provinces of Japan. They proposed several initiatives to bring into play the success of the first Vietnam - Kyushu agricultural workshop. They also considered the organisation of a forum and the first expo on agricultural and human resources cooperation between the two sides.

Consul General Vu Binh said the Vietnam - Japan relations are growing well, and the Northeast Asian country is boosting investment in Vietnam, adding that Japanese businesses pay attention to high-quality human resources and the application of high technology to agriculture to create products with high added value.

He pledged to coordinate with related agencies and organisations to promote investment, popularise Hoa Binh’s potential and strengths, and seek cooperation opportunities for the Japanese side and the province.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Ngo Van Tuan provided information about local socio-economic development, noting that Hoa Binh, adjacent to Hanoi, boasts numerous advantages for agricultural development and has formed concentrated farming zones. It also holds much potential for cultivating medicinal plants under the forest canopy and developing tourism in the Hoa Binh Lake vicinity, which is home to different ethnic groups with special cultural identities.

In particular, Hoa Binh has been working to make four strategic breakthroughs related to planning, infrastructure investment, business climate betterment, and human resource quality improvement so as to implement the resolution of the 17th provincial Party Congress.

Tuan expressed his hope that the Consul General will help his province connect with Japanese organisations and enterprises and attract more investment to agriculture, tourism, and industry in a substantive and effective manner.

Agreeing with the Consul General’s opinions, he assigned competent agencies to coordinate with related sides to carry out cooperation activities, firstly organising a booth introducing local potential and strengths, in order to hold an investment promotion conference in Japan in May 2022./.
