(HBO) – The Ministry of National Defence in collaboration with Hoa Binh province’s Party Committee held a symposium themed "Hoa Binh Victory - Brilliant achievement in the Party’s strategic directions and historical lessons” at the provincial Party Committee’s hall on December 7. The event was held via videoconference and connected with 13 places, with the participation of over 400 delegates.


 Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lieut. Gen. Le Huy Vinh, who is head of the steering committee for the organization of the symposium, delivers opening remarks.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lieut. Gen. Le Huy Vinh, who is head of the steering committee for the organization of the symposium, said that 70 years ago, under the leadership of the Party Central Committee, headed by President Ho Chi Minh, and directly the General Military Commission and the General High Command, the army and people launched the Hoa Binh Campaign (December 10, 1951 - February 25, 1952) and gained triumph.

The Hoa Binh Victory was an important event in the resistance war against the French colonialists, demonstrating the strategic vision, flexibility and creativity of the Politburo, the Party Central Committee, the General Military Commission and the General High Command. It marked the development of the army in terms of tactics, technique, and ability to fight continuously for a long time on both the direct front and that behind the enemy; and at the same time recognised a new step in the Vietnamese campaign art in the resistance war against French colonialists.

Vinh emphasized that the outcomes of the symposium will contribute to forging patriotism, national pride, will of independence and self-reliance, and aspiration for peace; consolidating the belief and political determination of the entire Party, people and army to overcome all hardships and challenges, especially in controlling and driving back the COVID-19 pandemic to return to the new normal state; and fighting against allegations, and those denying the historical and realistic values of the resistance war against the French colonialists in general, and the Hoa Binh Campaign in particular.


 Ngo Van Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, head of the provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, and co-chair of the steering committee for the organization of the symposium, gives a welcome speech.

Addressing the event Ngo Van Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, head of the provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, and co-chair of the steering committee for the organization of the symposium, affirmed that in the coming time, the Party Committee, authorities, army and people of Hoa Binh province continue to unite, make efforts and have higher determination to seize opportunities and strive to build the province into a solid defence area and an important military strategic area of the country, as well as an economic driving force of the region.

He expressed his wish that Hoa Binh will continue to receive more attention from the leaders, former leaders of the Party and State, and leaders of ministries and central-level agencies, together with the support, sharing and assistance of provinces and cities across the country to help Hoa Binh fulfil its set goals and plans./.
