Ngo Van Tuan, member
of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee,
and head of the National Assembly deputies’ delegation of Hoa Binh, receives
Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Nadav Eshcar.
Welcoming the guests,
the host official considered this as a chance for helping strengthen the
friendship and cooperation as Israel is one of the countries taking the lead in
high-quality agriculture that is famous for drip irrigation systems.
Tuan introduced the province’s potential and
advantages in terms of agriculture, forestry, and tourism and also informed his
guests about the local socio-economic development.
Noting certain shortcomings in agricultural and
forestry production, he called on the Israeli Embassy to help Hoa Binh attract
investment in hi-tech farming and cooperate in transferring modern and
environmentally friendly technologies for agricultural processing.
He also voiced his hope that with their
potential, advantages, and traditional cooperation, relations between Vietnam,
including Hoa Binh, and Israel will develop more strongly.
For his part, Ambassador Eshcar reaffirmed the
two countries’ friendship, adding that despite geographical distance, they
share many cultural and historical similarities. In particular, they boast
solidarity, creativity, and determination to overcome difficulties, which are important
factors for enhancing the bilateral solidarity and friendship.
He said Israel is strong at irrigation
technology, seedling production, animal breeding, and fertiliser manufacturing,
and that it is ready to cooperate with the province in smart technologies so as
to tap into potential and bring about development opportunities.
At the working session, the two sides agreed to
organise a workshop on agricultural development and expressed their wish to
expand cooperation to more aspects.
Following the meeting, the Israeli delegation
attended a tree planting event in Bac Phong commune of Cao Phong district.
Ambassador Eshcar considered this as a practical activity in response to the
1-billion-tree programme launched by the Vietnamese Prime Minister. He said his
embassy was delighted to donate nearly 23,000 trees to Hoa Binh to help create
a green and clean environment
After that, the delegation visited a model
