(HBO) – In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic that has taken a heavy toll on socio-economic aspects, joining efforts by the entire political system, the farmers’ unions at all levels in Hoa Binh province have carried out a number of meaningful activities helping with the pandemic fight and the sale of agricultural products.

Facing serious impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic,
farmers have encountered numerous difficulties in selling their produce, which
has led to considerable economic losses. Given this, the Vietnam Farmers’ Union
Central Committee launched a programme boosting connectivity in the sale of
agricultural products in order to help farmers surmount the pandemic. In
response, the Standing Board of the Hoa Binh provincial Farmers’ Union has
taken steps to support members to sell their produce.
To carry out this programme, all-level farmers’
unions have focused on surveying the products whose sale needs promotion,
opening the sites for directly selling produce to consumers, boosting the sale
online, and equipping farmers with online sales skills via training courses.
They have also signed cooperation agreements on selling farm produce with
related parties, including the businesses managing such e-commerce platforms as
Postmart.vn and Voso.vn.
Nguyen Thi Huong Hai, Vice Chairwoman of the
provincial Farmers’ Union, said the union has stepped up communications on its
Facebook page and website to help introduce and sell local agricultural
products. Despite their limited number, the food and farm produce stores that
the union has helped to set up have brought into play their role in supplying
safe food for consumers. They have also served as the sites for gathering and
selling agricultural products from other localities.
Thanks to diverse activities supporting farmers,
over the past year, the Farmers’ Union of Hoa Binh province has helped sell
more than 120 tonnes of vegetables and fruit grown in Lac Son, Kim Boi, and Tan
Lac districts; tens of tonnes of organic orange from Cao Phong district; as
well as tens of tonnes of orange from Ha Giang province, lychee from Bac Giang
province, clean vegetables from Hanoi, and many other agricultural products
from Ninh Binh province. So far, the union has assisted the establishment of
four stores selling safe farm produce in Luong Son, Mai Chau, and Kim Boi
districts, and Hoa Binh city.
Throughout his revolutionary life, Uncle Ho visited Hoa Binh province four times. He also sent dozens of letters, telegrams, greeting cards, and heartfelt messages to local officials, Party members, and people of all ethnic groups, urging them to remain united, support one another, strive for progress, and actively engage in both production and resistance efforts to build a prosperous homeland.
To unlock the full potential of its forest resources, the standing board of the provincial Party Committee on July 30, 2020 issued a Resolution on the sustainable development of production forests through 2025, with a vision toward 2030.
In recent years, the education and training sector in Cao Phong district, Hoa Binh province, has actively integrated its tasks with the promotion of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, ethics, and style. This approach has contributed significantly to improving the overall quality of education across the district.
The Hoa Binh provincial museum on May 16 opened a thematic exhibition "Under the flag of the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam" with more than 200 documents, images and objects featuring the glorious 95-year journey of the Party.
Hoa Binh police are collecting public feedback on amendments to the 2013 Constitution via the national identification app VNeID. This innovative approach marks a giant leap towards modernising grassroots democracy and enhancing transparency in public consultation.
Nguyen Phi Long, alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Hoa Binh Party Committee, on May 14 chaired a meeting of the provincial steering committee for its programme to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated housing for the poor. The session reviewed the programme’s outcomes to date and discussed forthcoming tasks.
