(HBO) - The organising board of the Technical Innovation Contest held a ceremony on January 13 afternoon to announce the winners of the 8th provincial Technical Innovation Contest and the 17th Teenager’s and Children's Innovation Contest. Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dinh Cong Su, who is also Chairman of the provincial Council of Science and Technology, attended the event.

Dinh Cong Su, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee and Chairman of the provincial Council of Science and Technology, hands the certificate of merit to a representative of the group who wins the first prize of the 8th Provincial Technical Innovation Contest for 2020 - 2021.

After two years launching the 8th contest and one year implementing the 17th contest for teenagers and children, despite difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the two contests were carried out throughout the province and achieved remarkable results. Regarding the 17th contest for teenagers and children, the province has 118 solutions, 47 higher than that of the previous edition.

Meanwhile, 33 solutions competed at the 8th contest, 12 more than the previous edition. Hoa Binh also won one third prize at the 7th national Technical Innovation Contest. Some localities which have a high number of solutions and models include Hoa Binh city, Lac Son, Mai Chau, and Da Bac districts.

At the ceremony, the 17th contest for teenagers and children granted one first, two second, seven third and 20 consolation prizes, while the 8th Technical Innovation Contest awarded one first, two second, three third, and nine consolation prizes.

Speaking at the event, Dinh Cong Su, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee and Chairman of the provincial Council of Science and Technology, congratulated the winners for their excellent achievements. He affirmed that the contests are held to promote the innovative labour emulation movement, and bring into play the great creative potential of locals, constantly promote initiatives and improve technical skills, and quickly apply scientific and technological advances to all areas of production and life, thus contributing to promoting the province’s industrialisation and modernisation.​

He spoke highly of the results of the contests, and requested the Party committees and authorities at all levels, agencies, units, schools and the organisers to continue to effectively translate the solutions into reality.

Within the framework of the awarding ceremony, the organisers launched the 9th provincial Technical Innovation Contest for 2022 - 2023 and implemented a plan to respond to the 18th national innovation contest for teenagers and children in the 2021-2022 academic year./.
