(HBO) – Deputy Director of the Hoa Binh provincial Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Dinh Tu visited the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hung Hoa on February 11 to extend congratulations to its newly-appointed residential bishop, Father Dominic Hoang Minh Tien.

Stretching across more than 10 city and provinces in the north of Vietnam, the Diocese of Hung Hoa has over 200,000 Catholic followers, 129 priests and 116 parishes. Its followers come from different ethnic groups, namely Kinh, Muong, Tay, Thai, Dao, Ha Nhi, and San Chi, among others, many of who live in Hoa Binh City and the districts of Cao Phong, Da Bac, Lac Son and Tan Lac in Hoa Binh.
Speaking at the meeting, Tu congratulated the priest on his new mission and shared his views on the province’s socio-economic development and outstanding achievements in recent years, contributed by local Catholic dignitaries and believers. He voiced his hope that Father Dominic Hoang Minh Tien will continue accompanying local authorities to boost socio-economic growth and strictly observe Party’s policies and State’s law.
The Father, for his part, thanked Tu and other leaders of provincial departments and agencies for their gesture. He pledged to call on the believers to fully comply with all the policies, strengthen the national unity and together overcome difficulties to develop Hoa Binh./.

Each year, it draws numerous visitors from across Vietnam and abroad, becoming a "red address" for educating young generations on the nation's revolutionary traditions.
