(HBO) – Lac Thuy is home to 200 Party members who are religious followers, mostly in the Party cells under the Party Organisations of Khoan Du and Phu Thanh communes. They have played an important role in implementing patriotism movements and fostering the connections between the Party, administration and local residents, thus contributing to enhancing the leadership and combativeness of the local Party Organisation and ensuring the stability and development of the religious followers-inhibited areas and the district in general.

Nguyen Thi Ly (sitting), a Party member and a religious follower in Tan Lam village, Phu Thanh commune of Lac Thuy district, has always pioneered in implementing emulation movements launched by the communal Women’s Union.

Lien Son Party cell in Khoan Du commune has 34 members, of whom 90% are Catholics, who have been active in patriotism movements, especially the advanced new-style rural area building movement.

In 2021, the average per capita income of locals in Khoan Du commune was 55 million VND (2,331 USD), but that in Lien Son village reached nearly 60 million VND. While the remaining villages of Khoan Du are finalising criteria for an advanced new-style rural area, Lien Son has completed the programme and came third among all communes of the province. Currently, Lien Son is leading in all local movements.

This has been made available thanks to the great contributions from local Catholics who donated their land, working days and money for the construction of roads and public works.

Secretary of the Lien Son Party Cell Vu Quoc Bao said that proving the correctness of the Party's resolutions and the State's policies is the way these Party members have done to encourage the community to join the movements.

Khoan Du has six villages with 1,000 households and 3,700 people, 90% of them Catholics. The Khoan Du Party Organisation has 235 members, with more than 70% being religious followers. In many years, the commune has seen no hotspot in disorder and insecurity, while all of the households have accessed power supply services. All the schools in the communes have been standardised, while all the villages have built cultural houses.

Deputy Secretary of the Khoan Du Party Committee said that the first Party cell under the communal Party Organisation was established 90 years ago. The development of the Party Organisation is an obvious evidence for the growth and vitality of the Party amid a religious area, he stressed.

Meanwhile, in Tan Phu village of Phu Thanh district, Nguyen Ngoc Phu and his two sons are Party members who have successfully developed a farming model, earning more than 300 million VND, which has been widely multiplied in the commune. Since it started the new-style rural area building programme, Tan Phu has posted higher per capita income than the commune’s average by 4-6 million VND.

With his 30 years as a Party member, Phu has actively engaged in the building of a pure and strong Party cell, and inspiring the youth.

Following their father, Phu’s sons have dynamically joined movements of the locality and become members of the Party at young age.

Secretary of the Lac Thuy Party Committee Pham Van Duc affirmed that Party members who are Catholics have worked as an important force in popularising the Party’s orientations, policies and State’s laws to the local community with the motto of taking religions as solutions to religion-related issues./.
