Hoa Binh province was established on June 22, 1886 following a decree issued by the northern region's authorities under the name Muong province, comprising three prefectures namely Vang An, Lac Son, Luong Son and Cho Bo.
On September 5, 1896, the provincial capital was moved from Cho Bo to Vinh Dieu village in Hoa Binh commune (Hoa Binh city today). Since then it officially bore the name of Hoa Binh and consisted of four districts, namely Luong Son, Ky Son, Mai Da and Lac Son. Through many changes in administrative boundaries, the province now has 10 districts and city housing six main ethnic groups: Muong, Kinh, Thai, Tay, Dao, and Mong.
The people of Hoa Binh province have showed solidarity and hard work in production, heroism and resilience in the struggle for national construction and defence.
On display are nearly 300 original documents, including photos and scientific items, which briefly introduced the establishment of the locality and the struggle for power of the Hoa Binh army and people.
The exhibition offers an opportunity for visitors to have a look at artifacts and documents related to the founding of the province and important milestones in its struggle for independence, thereby motivating national pride, promoting the strength of the great solidarity bloc and helping the younger generation have a better understanding of the local history./.
