The island district of Co To in Quang Ninh province held a flag-raising ceremony on April 30 to celebrate the 48th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

A large number of tourists and local people gathered at the relic site dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh on Co To Island, to attend the flag-raising ceremony.

The national flag was hoisted at 6:30 am, proudly flying in the sky of the northeast sea.

The flag-raising ceremony takes place in a dignified atmosphere with the participation of many local people and tourists.

Nguyen Tien Thu from Hanoi said, that he attended the flag-raising ceremony at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi and today he was very proud and happy to attend the sacred flag-raising ceremony on Co To Island, the only place where President Ho Chi Minh allowed the installation of his statue while he was alive.
