(HBO) - On June 11, 1948, President Ho Chi Minh issued an appeal for patriotic emulation. The appeal strongly encouraged people to emulate in all aspects of social life, creating great strength for the whole Party, people, and army to overcome hardships and lead the Vietnamese revolution to victory. To mark the 75th anniversary of the late President’s appeal for patriotic emulation, the northern province of Hoa Binh has popularised the meaning and value of the emulation in various fields of social life.



Officials of the provincial Emulation and Commendation Department are appraising an agricultural model in Trai Oi hamlet, Kim Boi commune, Kim Boi district, Hoa Binh province.

In the past years, the province’s emulation and commendation, patriotic movements have been constantly promoted. During 2018 - 2022, the province effectively directed several emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister and the provincial People's Committee, including the those on COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control; new-style rural building; "for the poor- leaving no one behind" drive; promoting administrative reform and improving the quality of civil service, among others. The movements have significantly contributed to the implementation of the province's political tasks, annual socio-economic targets and tasks.

In the reviewed period, the province's economy maintained a satisfactory growth rate with an annual average growth of 6.18%, the scale of the economy was expanded. In 2022, the province's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) reached 32.680.25 trillion VND (1.4 billion USD), up 1.23 times compared to 2017.

The economic structure was shifted to a positive direction. The province’s average GRDP per capita reached 66.7 million VND, an increase of 1.65 times compared to that in 2017 (40.5 million VND).

In 2022, the rate of poor households in the province decreased to 12.99%, down 5.01% compared to the end of 2017. New-style rural building has proved effective.

In the period, the province had 73 of its 129 communes meeting new-style rural development standards, 123 OCOP products, including 24 meeting four-star and 99 three-star criteria.

Along with that, the commendation and reward works was renewed, focusing on rewarding direct employees. From 2018 to 2022, the province had 181 collectives, 30 households and 292 individuals rewarded by the President and the Prime Minister. In 2022, the rate of direct employees who received reward reached 65.75%, an increase of 32.19% compared to 2017.

The chairman of the provincial People's Committee handed emulation titles and rewards for 4,889 collective units and 5,121 individuals; the rate of direct employee received rewards in 2022 reached 61.12%, an increase of 10.9% compared to 2017

Bui Ngoc Dai, Head of the Emulation and Commendation Department, said that promoting the results recorded during 2023-2028, the province will continue to thoroughly implement the Government's direction on promoting the patriotic emulation movement while strengthening leadership and direction of the Party committees and authorities at all levels in the implementation of economic consolidation and development work at all levels and branches in the province.

The province has also improved the quality and efficiency of emulation and commendation works with focus on and increase rewards for small collectives, workers, farmers, civil servants and public employees who do not hold leadership and management positions while ensuring accurate, timely rewards, achievements in order to successfully carry out local socio-economic development tasks.

However, thanks to their active and effective engagement, relevant agencies and religious organisations have helped the provincial and district-level People’s Committees deal with those cases in a timely manner and in line with legal regulations, thus ensuring religious freedom.

Provincial People's Committee holds monthly meeting

The Hoa Binh provincial People’s Committee held its monthly conference in virtual form on April 2 to review draft documents to be submitted to the standing board of the provincial Party Committee and others under its management along with some other important issues. Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khanh chaired the event, which was connected with the people's committees of districts and cities in Hoa Binh.

The 15th meeting of Hoa Binh province’s 17th-tenure Party organisation was held on March 26. Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phi Long, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council Bui Duc Hinh, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khanh co-chaired the event.

Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, chaired a meeting of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board on March 21 to review the leadership over the implementation of tasks in the first quarter, identify focal tasks and solutions for the second quarter, and discuss some important draft reports.
