(HBO) – The 17th Trade Union Congress of Hoa Binh for the 2023-2028 tenure had a successful session on September 22 with the participation of representatives from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL). Bui Tien Luc, member of the provincial Party Committee and head of the committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation, and President of the province’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee also attended the event.

 

Members of the Hoa Binh delegation to attend the 18th Vietnam Trade Union Congress are officially introduced at the event.

In the morning, participants elected 11 members to the 17th standing committee of the provincial Federation of Labour, along with nine members to the inspection committee.

Nguyen Manh Cuong, member of the provincial Party Committee and President of the provincial Federation of Labour in the 16th tenure was re-elected as the federation’s President in the new tenure. Meanwhile, Nguyen Duc Thuan, Hoang Quoc Chung, Nguyen Thi Thanh Van were also re-elected as the vice chairpersons of the federation in the new tenure.

Participants also selected a delegation to the 18th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, which comprises of nine delegates and two alternate members.

In the spirit of "Innovation - Democracy - Solidarity - Development", participants focused discussion on measures to build strong, comprehensive and capable trade union organisations to protect the legal and legitimate rights and interests of labourers.

The congress sketched out eight groups of solutions to complete 10 trade union targets, including 85-90% of trade union members and labourers accessing directions and resolutions of the Party as well as State laws and policies and Trade Union resolutions.

In the 2023-2028 tenure, the provincial Trade Union aims to increase its member to 100,000, with 100% of local businesses with 20 employees and above having their own trade union.

Meanwhile, at least 83% of local businesses and agencies with trade unions are expected to negotiate and sign collective labour agreements, while 100% of trade unions taking actions to give legal support and protect the legal and legitimate rights for their members at the court.

After two days of sitting, the 17th provincial Trade Union Congress for the 2023-2028 tenure successfully concluded, completing all agenda.
