Hoa Binh province's steering committee for Party and union building in non-state enterprises has held a conference to assess the results of the work last year and deploy key activities for 2024. The event was chaired by Bui Duc Hinh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Council, and head of the steering committee.
Bui Duc Hinh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee,
Chairman of the provincial People's Council, delivered his conclusion speech at
the conference.
In 2023, the province admitted 40 persons working in
non-state enterprises to the Party and saw eight new Party cells established in
these businesses, up 43% and 60% year-on-year, respectively. The provincial
Party organisation logged 1,182 Party members in non-state enterprises, a 6.1%
increase from 2022. In terms of union development, 18 grassroots trade unions
with 3,219 members as well as three youth organisations with 125 members were
set up.
Many business owners have shown interest and provided
favourable conditions for employees to engage in related activities in their
places of residence and strive to be admitted to the Party. The roles and
positions of Party committees, cells, and members, and trade unions within the
enterprises have also increasingly improved.
However, the numbers of Party members and unions in
non-state enterprises remain low compared to the total number of active
businesses in the province. Some enterprises have established their Party
organisations, but their leadership role and quality of activities have yet to
be effective.
In his concluding remarks, Hinh suggested that various
levels and sectors should thoroughly implement and strictly adhere to central
and provincial-level directives, which aim to strengthen the Party leadership
in private economic units.
According to the official, efforts should be made to enhance
awareness among business owners and employees in the non-state sector.
Dialogues with businesses should be increased while administrative procedures
should be reformed, and favourable conditions should be created to help
enterprises overcome difficulties and promote production and business
development.
Furthermore, he noted that a focus should be placed on
training and enhancing the skills of personnel responsible for the Party and
union work in the enterprises. Timely recognition and rewards should be given
to firms, groups, and individuals with outstanding achievements in production
and business activities, fulfilling their obligations to the state and
contributing to the local socio-economic development.
