The Hoa Binh provincial People’s Committee held its monthly conference in virtual form on April 2 to review draft documents to be submitted to the standing board of the provincial Party Committee and others under its management along with some other important issues. Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khanh chaired the event, which was connected with the people's committees of districts and cities in Hoa Binh.

Delegates provided feedback on the results of tasks assigned by the provincial People's Committee and its Chairman in March. As of March 31, the total number of assigned tasks was 508, of which 390 had been finished.

The conference agreed that in the first months of this year, there were certain notable achievements in socio-economic development. The economic growth rate reached 1.92%, the State budget revenue exceeded 1.2 trillion VND (50 million USD) while three domestic investment projects were licensed in the province with a total registered capital of 500 billion VND.

Delegates focused attention on some targets that are facing challenges in realisation, such as State budget revenue collection, economic growth acceleration, and capital investment disbursement. The meeting also offered opinions on a draft plan to implement the Government project on building at least 1 million social housing units for low-income earners and workers in industrial zones for the 2021-2030 period, and other important issues.

In his closing remarks, Chairman Khanh asked departments, agencies and localities to take further actions to boost production and trade, striving to achieve the highest targets and tasks for 2024. He emphasised the need to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital, drastically push forward key projects, handle prolonged tax arrears, and closely manage mining activities. Localities were asked to continue to focus on zoning and regional planning, which are the basis for socio-economic development. Adjustments to land use planning and land use plans must ensure consistency and compliance with local master plan and regulations.
