A delegation of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee led by Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, paid tribute to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the National Funeral Hall in Hanoi on July 25.

After a period of severe illness, despite
wholehearted treatment and care from the Party, State, leading experts, and his
family, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong passed away at 1:38pm on July
19 at Central Military Hospital 108 in Hanoi. He was 80.
For nearly 60 years of working, he made numerous
enormous and particularly remarkable contributions to the glorious revolutionary
cause of the Party and the nation. He was honoured with the Gold Star Order,
the 55-year Party membership badge, along with many other noble orders and
medals of Vietnam and other countries. His passing is a great loss to the
Party, the State, the people, and his family. To grieve and commemorate General
Secretary Trong, the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, the National
Assembly, the State President, the Government, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front
Central Committee decided to hold a funeral for him in the national mourning
etiquette.
At the respect-paying ceremony, on behalf of the
Party organisation, administration, and people of all ethnic groups in Hoa
Binh, leaders of the province expressed sadness over the passing of the Party
chief. They pledged to continue maintaining solidarity within the Party,
building a clean and comprehensively strong Party organisation, promoting the
fight against degradation, enhancing people’s trust in the Party’s leadership,
and turning pain into action to create momentum for developing the homeland and
the country as the General Secretary wished.
While serving as Party General Secretary, he
used to pay working visits to Hoa Binh in 2011, 2017, and 2022.

During her working visit to Hoa Binh province on October 18, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan toured a site where late President Ho Chi Minh once stayed when he visited the Kim Boi district’s Party Committee. She was accompanied by officials from various ministries, agencies, and central organisations.
