In the modern life, the street sports imported from abroad such as hip hop dancing, roller skating, freestyle football ... have gradually become popular among young people in Hoa Binh. Unlike other mass sports such as badminton, volleyball, football ... skateboarding is both a fascinating art and a sport.
Founded in 2017, Street of Undead Liberty (S.O.U.L) is home for 25 young people who share the same passion on skateboarding. The team members are mainly students at high schools in Hoa Binh City. The S.O.U.L group's training sessions are not only a healthy playground, where they are free to express personalities, creativity in technology, the dynamism of youth but it is also a place for exchanging and connecting passion.
Boards are made from laminated wood with high quality, durability and elasticity. The boards are mostly oval, which are designed curved or flat at both ends with the size of about 80 cm long and 20cm wide. The top of the board is printed with patterns with diverse motifs, and there are small wheels for movement and easy navigation on the bottom. The price of each skateboard ranges from 1 to 10 million VND depending on the model, the size, the quality and the brand. Skateboarding is suitable for playing on flat roads, smooth pavement, in parks, squares, safe places with less traffic.
Because of the adventurous and demanding technical requirements, skateboarding is suitable for healthy men who want to conquer challenges and overcome their fears.
Since there are no face-to-face instructors, the members must read books, newspapers, watch and study skateboarding clips themselves for technology. When practicing proficiently, the members will confidently create personal movements suitable for themselves. Pursuing the passion of skateboarding, despite many difficulties and dangers, the S.O.U.L team has always tried, worked hard and improved their individual skills.
Luong Minh Hieu says: "For me, skateboarding is a very interesting sport, not being constrained by rules or regulations. When practicing, the movements are soft, natural, flexible and energetic helping me train my body and giving me the opportunity to interact with my friends. We hope that the SOUL team will inspire many people, so that skateboarding will become more popular with youth in Hoa Binh City in the coming time”.
