Thanks to the support of local authorities, Hoa Binh’s education system continues to achieve significant progress, contributing to meeting comprehensive reform targets and students' learning needs as well as supplying high-quality human resources for the province.

According to Dinh Thi Huong, Acting Director of the provincial Department of Education and Training, it has actively advised the provincial authorities in implementing a project on strengthening resources for the sector's development to meet renewal requirements in the 2023 - 2030 period.

For the 2024 - 2025 academic year, kindergarten enrollment in the province reached 77.8%. In the previous school year, 99.52% of primary school pupils completing their grade-level programmes, with 100% of primary graduates continuing to secondary school, 1.83% higher than the national average. Secondary and high school graduation rates stood at 99.33% and 99.5%, respectively.

Students from the province excelled in national competitions, securing 42 awards in the national contest for excellent high school student, 13 more than the previous year, and two prizes in the national science and technology competition. Additionally, 60.66% of kindergartens and high schools in Hoa Binh now meet national accreditation standards, surpassing the national average by 1.57%.

Efforts to develop educators and education management personnel remain a priority. In 2024, nine educators from the province were conferred the Meritorious Teacher title by the President.

Regarding the implementation of digital academic records, by September 2024, the province had issued 100% digital report cards for students from grades 1 to 4, exceeding the national average by 57%. Additionally, 21,350 official email accounts and 16,734 digital certificates were distributed to schools, administrators, and educators.

The department has strengthened its presence on social media platforms, carried out a campaign calling for spreading positive information and combating misinformation. In collaboration with the sector's labour union, it raised over 1 billion VND (39,378 USD) to support recovery efforts from Typhoon Yagi.

The model of efficient energy lighting - Spreading the light of education

Since 2021, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting (CIIDC) under the Department of Industry and Trade has been implementing a school lighting model as part of the plan for using energy efficiently and economically in Hoa Binh Province in the pẻiod of 2021 - 2025. This model not only aims to improve the learning conditions and enhance the education quality, but it also promotes the message of energy saving, energy security, environmental protection and contributes to the goals of socio-economic development.

Progress in ethnic minority education

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
