The Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh province is actively preparing for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam - the first exam to be held under the 2018 General Education Program. According to the new regulations, students will take two compulsory subjects, Math and Literature, and two elective subjects chosen from the remaining ones. This change requires both schools and students to adjust their teaching and learning approaches, with a focus on developing comprehensive competencies.

From the
beginning of the academic year, the provincial Department of Education and
Training issued official documents directing and guiding high schools and
continuing education centers across the province to implement systematic and
effective review plans.
Teachers at
various schools have demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and
proactively supported students in their revision efforts, providing free
tutoring in accordance with Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and
Training. In this final stage, the close companionship and guidance of teachers
have become a solid source of support, helping students consolidate their
knowledge and prepare confidently for the exam.
Schools have
organized review sessions by subject, grouping students according to their
academic abilities to apply appropriate teaching methods. Emphasis has been
placed on investment in elective subjects, both in terms of qualified teachers
and study materials, enabling students to make the best choices based on their
interests and strengths.
In addition
to delivering knowledge, schools have focused on equipping students with
test-taking skills through regular assessments and mock exams that simulate the
official test. These activities help students become familiar with time
constraints, practice analyzing questions, choose appropriate answers, and
present their work in a structured and logical manner.
The
Department of Education and Training has also been instructed to enhance career
counseling services, supporting students in selecting suitable exam subjects
and preparing effectively for their post-secondary education and career paths.
Under the
guidance of the Provincial People’s Committee and the Exam Steering Committee,
departments, agencies, and localities have worked closely with the Department
of Education and Training to ensure comprehensive preparation for the exam.
Examination venues have been reviewed and upgraded in terms of facilities; the
team of invigilators has undergone thorough training in professional conduct
and examination regulations to ensure the exam is conducted safely, seriously,
and in full compliance with established guidelines.
