(HBO) – Heavy rain and flood have caused several damages to houses, properties, rice, vegetables, roads, and other public works.


Mai Chau district is mobilizing the forces to clean up the landslide areas on the route of DH.63, Mai Chau town- Bao La.

 

Mo Rut village, Tan Maicommune is one of the places being severely damaged. According to statistics, only Mo Rut village had a loss of about 1.7 billion VND.

The flood has also caused serious damages to the production and life of people living in the area. The agriculture sector has lost nearly 1.6 billion VND. The industrial sector has been damaged about 400 million VND, including 11 power pillars was been fallen down and broken, 420 meters of wires were disconnected, 3 power poles are having potential of being slid at the foot.

However, the traffic has been suffered the most severe damage. The traffic damage is estimated at 71.5 billion VND.

According to Mr. Ha Cong The, the Chairman of Mai Chau District People's Committee, when floods occurred, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Victim Rescue of the district, communes and towns timely deployed plans and measures to rescue. The District leaders directly inspect and handle cases in key areas, concentrating on overcoming the consequences in maximum. On the other hand, the police, army and military forces are mobilized to rescue and support the relocation of local people and properties out of dangerous areas. The transport sector urge mobilizes excavators, automobiles and human resources to release landslides and stones sliding. Particularly, the police and military forces have implemented synchronously measures to ensure security during and after the floods in flooded areas, especially at night when the power was cut off, without letting bad guys take advantage of theft, looting, messing up the situation.

The District People's Committee has mobilized forces to help local people stabilize their life, production and business; overcoming irrigation works, dredging canals to ensure irrigation for agricultural production; organizing the overcoming and repair of traffic works, especially the landslide to allow the traffic through and restore the damaged spots of the power supply system to meet the production and daily-life demands. With the conditions of being difficult highland and being continuously affected by disasters, Mai Chau District People's Committee proposed to the provincial People’s Committee for building a resettlement area for 21 households in Mo Rut Village, Tan Mai Commune; assisting the displacement of housing from unsafe areas and supporting seedlings, repairing traffic works and irrigation works for local people.
