(HBO) - The Hoa Binh provincial People's Committee held a conference on October 27 to review a pilot project on selecting young intellectual volunteers for rural development work for the 2013-2020 period, as part of Project 500.

On the basis of the Ministry of Home Affairs’ review, the provincial People’s Committee issued Decision No.121/QD-UBND approving the list of 32 young intellectual volunteers joining Project 500, including 16 in Kim Boi and 15 in Da Bac. As six of them withdrew from the project, the province asked for the ministry’s permission to replace them with six others earning subsequent high scores. As a result, 32 have been shortlisted for the effort. After five years of project implementation, five more members withdrew from the project. There are 27 HCMYPO members now in the province.

To carry out Project 500 in the province, the provincial Department of Home Affairs sent documents to authorities of Kim Boi and Da Bac districts requesting them to enhance inspection of project implementation in the locality. Each year, HCMYPO members are sent to training courses, including 16 attending Party admission training courses, raising the total to 21 out of the 27, or 77.8 percent. Three completed political theory courses, four others finished State management courses and two pursued the second degrees./.
