(HBO) - Da Bac District Red Cross on December 15 held its VI Congress for the tenure 2021-2026. The meeting boasted attendance of provincial Red Cross leaders, district administrative officials as well delegates representing local chapters.

During the last term, humanitarian, charity and community health care activities were implemented by Da Bac Red Cross in a comprehensive and effective manner. Up to this point, Da Bac Red Cross has evolved into 19 chapters with 158 subsidiaries, including over 3.000 activists.

In the mentioned period, Da Bac Red Cross has managed to fulfill, achieve and exceed the goals set out in the Resolution of Congress V, tenure 2016-2021, including: compiled and provided aids to 80% of relevant beneficiaries in the area equal to over 63 support packages to disadvantaged members of the communities worth 26,3 billion VNĐ; provided over 7.000 free medical examinations and medications packages worth over 1 billion VNĐ; mobilized and advocated 1.395 blood units during donating campaigns; ensured the minimum fund of 2-5 million VNĐ at 100% of grassroots subsidiaries; provided training for 100% communal activists; maintained the title of "Comprehensive Excellence Society” with 75% of subsidiaries evaluated with outstanding performance… Given its brilliant achievements during the last term, Da Bac Red Cross was the multiple recipient of various distinguished awards from central and provincial Red Cross societies.

In the upcoming term of 2021-2026, the society sets out the following guidelines: To expand network of local subsidiaries; to increase membership of volunteers and activists; to strengthen staff training and education in humanitarian, public health care and medical assistance; to promote blood donating campaign, mobilizing operational funds…

The Congress elected the 6th Executive Board with 28 members, headed by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan as the President of Da Bac Red Cross, tenure 2021-2026.

The event also witnessed the commendations from provincial Red Cross as well as district people’s committee for several individuals and units for outstanding achievements in humanitarian works.
