The secretariats of the Vietnam Youth Federations of Hoa Binh and Thai Binh provinces jointly held a ceremony to launch the volunteers programme Winter 2023 - Spring 2024 in Yen Thuy district (Hoa Binh province), on December 16. The programme is held annually targeting disadvantaged people in remote, isolated areas.

When the farming area and output of lemongrass in some wards and communes of Hoa Binh city exceeded the market demand in 2015, many local households had to harvest and burn the excess. With sharp thinking and a thirst for knowledge, Nguyen Thi Binh in Thong Nhat ward found a solution, creating an outlet for lemongrass. The Dao Hamlet Agriculture Cooperative was established, paving the way to poverty alleviation for local farmers.

Cao Phong district has carried out an array of measures to create stable jobs for local laborers. Bui Thi Du, a resident in Trang Tren hamlet, Hop Phong commune, recently engaged in a training course on raising free-range chickens. Thanks to the application of poultry caring and disease prevention techniques that she got from the course, Du is successful at increasing the number of the chicken flock to 100, which has brought about a big profit. Her family’s livelihood has therefore improved and become more stable. 

Tan Lac district has achieved important results in implementing the 11th-tenure Party Central Committee’s Resolution No 29-NQ/TW, dated November 4, 2013, which instructs comprehensive reform of education and training to meet the demand of industrialisation and modernisation in the socialist-oriented market economy and international integration.
