Cao Phong district has witnessed signs of economic improvement over the recent past thanks to efforts by local authorities to promote agricultural, industrial, and handicraft development.
On April 26th, the Steering Committee for completing the standards to establish Luong Son town of the province held a conference to evaluate the progress of implementing the standards to establish Luong Son town. Hoa Binh province scored 43.5493 points in the 2023 Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI), ranking 20th out of the 63 provinces and cities nationwide, up 23 places compared to the 2022 list. Stretching over 300 meters, valued at hundreds of million dong and built to the new-style rural standards, a concrete road in De hamlet, Bac Phong commune, Cao Phong district, was completed by the end of 2023 thanks to the collective contributions of armed forces at provincial and district levels coupled with the active participation of military units stationed throughout the district.
Over the years, the People’s Committee of Lac Thuy district has issued many plans and programmes to speed up the administrative reform, aiming to better serve local people and businesses.
Kim Boi district is drafting 23 planning projects which are expected to help boost the local socio-economic development, attract investors, and mobilise resources for development, said Vice chairman of the district People’s Committee Tran Tuan Son.
They include the one on Bo urban area development until 2045, 20 zoning, and 12 on rural residential areas in communes.
This year, Hoa Binh province strives to have eight communes recognised as meeting new-style rural area standards and five communes satisfying exemplary new-style rural area standards. Lac Son district boasts a vast area and large population, with about 90% of the population living in rural areas, and hence the lowest level of urbanisation in the province. The district has issued a resolution on urban development, plans and projects for urban development along with a roadmap, aiming to achieve an urbanisation rate of 15% by 2025 and 25% by 2030 by developing urban areas in the towns of Vu Ban, Muong Vo, and Muong Khoi according to urban levels.
Doan Ket, a remote commune of Yen Thuy district, has more than 98% of its population being people from ethnic minority groups, mainly Muong. Over the past years, local residents have upheld the tradition of solidarity as well as their trust in the leadership of the local Party committee and administration to make joint efforts to develop their hometown and meet new-style countryside criteria.
Over recent times, the implementation of the single-window mechanism for administrative procedure settlement in electronic environments at various units and localities has seen positive changes.
In Pa Co commune of Mai Chau district, apart from 82ha of 'shan tuyet' teas grown several decades ago, there are also ancient plants aged more than 100 years, mostly in Pa Hang Lon and Pa Co hamlets. The local tea with its distinctive flavour has become a consumer preference. Besides, the ancient plants are also favourite check-in places of tourists at present.
A working team from the Hoa Binh Party Committee led by Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, inspected the preservation and promotion of the cultural values of the Muong culture and the making of planning for a reservation space for the Muong culture in Phong Phu commune of Tan Lac district on March 6.
Kim Boi district has been paying much attention to promoting role models in patriotic emulation movements.Developing role models helps identify outstanding individuals and organisations – exemplars of patriotic emulation.
The provincial People’s Committee has worked to accelerate the construction of the Hoa Binh – Hanoi highway and the Hoa Binh – Moc Chau section of the Son La highway, which received in-principle approval from the provincial People’s Council in 2021.
The People’s Committee of Hoa Binh province, in collaboration with Military Region 3, held a ceremony in Yen Mong commune, Hoa Binh city, on February 19 to launch a tree planting festival on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Dragon, and in response to the Government’s programme of planting 1 billion trees for a green Vietnam.
Ahead of the Lunar New Year, Hoa Binh received Decision No. 1648/QD-TTg, issued by the Prime Minister on December 20, 2023, that approves the Master Plan of the province for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050. With general targets and strategic breakthroughs identified, the Master Plan is like a comprehensive design reflecting a new mindset and vision and creating momentum for Hoa Binh to make development breakthroughs.
In 2023, Mai Chau district’s Party Executive Committee has united, overcome difficulties, promoted and made the most of the resources to effectively lead and direct the tasks of the socio-economic development, ensuring the national defense and security, and doing a good job of building a strong Party and political system.
