The People’s Committee of Hoa Binh province on November 29 had a working session with businesses and investors from China, Hong Kong (China), and Singapore who came to learn about business and investment opportunities in the locality. Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee Bui Van Khanh chaired the session.
The first Hoa Binh province’s Da River Shrimp and Fish Festival, the Agricultural Fair and the OCOP Exhibition of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region 2023 last month featured nearly 200 booths of enterprises from 10 provinces and cities in the region.

A delegation from Sao Do (Red Star) Entrepreneurs’ Club led by its President Nguyen Canh Hong has visited Hoa Binh to explore investment opportunities in the province.
Over the years, businesses located in local industrial parks (IP) have operated stably, completing and exceeding their plan and enjoying growth in revenue, export revenue and State budget payment, while contributing to creating jobs for local labourers.
In the cause of sustainable poverty reduction, the State’s supporting policies are considered a powerful lever to help poor and near-poor households escape poverty in Hoa Binh province. Over the past years, the Party committee and authorities of Tan My commune (Lac Son district) have always paid attention to and focused on implementing sustainable poverty reduction. Their efforts have produced positive results.
According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, from the beginning of the year to the end of October, in the whole province there have been 45 off-budget capital investment projects the investment policies of which has been approved with a total registered investment capital of about 20,000 billion VND. There have been 760 projects in the provincen so far; there are 36 foreign direct investment projects with a total registered capital of about 608 million USD and 724 domestic investment projects with a total registered capital of about 275,000 billion VND.

Implementing the loan program for production and business households in difficult areas according to Decision No. 31/2007/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, from the beginning of the year until now, Hoa Binh provincial Bank for Social Policies branch has disbursed 92.7 billion VND to 1,953 households. Up to now, the total outstanding debt of this credit program has reached more than 685 billion VND with more than 17.2 thousand customers with outstanding debt.
The start of winter also marks the harvesting season of taro in Son Thuy commune (Mai Chau district). The local tuber has gained popularity thanks to its good taste. It was granted the "Phuc San Taro" trademark by the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam in 2020.
Hoa Binh currently has 123 medicinal herb products recognised by OCOP (One Commune-One Product) Programme items, affirming the locality’s prestige and trademark in the market.
